Commercial growers will want to plant this strawberry variety from the Peter Vinson breeding program in Kent, England. An improvement over the Everest, this day-neutral is easier to grow, higher yielding and less sensitive to the warm summer temperatures that shut down day-neutral production in the East and Midwest. Berries have an attractive red color, good flavor and maintain good size. In fruiting trials here, Evie-2 produced the largest spring crop of any day-neutral variety we have tested to date.

Excellent performer! The taste is sweet and light with a true strawberry taste and medium texture, great for fresh eating. The plants grew very well and produced heavily for a first year crop. They continued producing right up till the first fall freeze. They produce a fair amount of runners but I'm using it as a groundcover so that's desirable, and it wasn't so runner heavy that fruit production suffered. No disease or pest issues. I'm just waiting to see if they survive their first winter. The only downside was that since they produced so heavily in late summer/early fall, I had to fight the wasps for them!

I have ordered strawberries from many companies, I was absolutely amazed how huge the roots are. Also so mature and healthy. Best strawberries I have ever ordered. Ordered 50 more two different other types.
Am I excited!!!!! Oh Yes!!!!!

Evie-2 didn't do well in N Idaho [CDA]. They were sour rather than sweet, even when left on the vine to over-ripe. They must work well in some climates, or Nourse would surely pull them. I ended up ripping Evie-2 out at the end of the first year.

I purchased Mara De Bois in the same order, and they were excellent.

Started these bare root berries in an aquaponic vertical garden 8 days ago in a system I designed especially for bare root plants. There are flowers already! Some are trying to open barely out of the crown. Being a total rookie, I'm not sure if that's good or bad..

So pleased with these and Nourse products so far. All starts I received have thrived in our chilly Montana spring and have blossoms after 3 weeks. Strong hardy plants!

I have been growing the Evie 2 for several years and this year despite the scorching weather and little rain they are producing right now in mid-Aug-the-- third time this season. They are large, sweet and juicy. and no real pests.
