Jonkheer van Tets is a red currant introduction from Holland, this early variety is known for its highly rated flavor and fruit size. Jonkheer van Tets will outperform other early varieties. Being early, it may be susceptible to late frosts, so site selection is important. In Massachusetts, it matures in early July. Special pruning may also be necessary. Reviews

I planted one Jonkheer van Teets from Nourse several years ago. It's a beauty when producing, which it did heavily this summer (early July), shortly after our pink champagne currant bushes did. The berries were easy to pick, froze well, and continue to make delightful additions to baked goods.
