Reviews

I ordered Mac Black in late 2022, and planted it in the spring of 2023. Unlike 4 other raspberries I ordered from Nourse, Mac Black did not bear the first year. That is not a problem. What I don't like about this variety is that the vines are long and wispy, small in diameter, very floppy with some small thorns. The long floppy vines bend down to touch the soil, taking root. Other Nourse varieties of raspberry that I have grown I would rate 5 stars. I so dislike the floppy, thin vines that branch out at about 90 degrees. They need far more support than other raspberries. They are not easily trellised. I plan to dig up the vines and plant them along the edge of the woods. I'm not going to wait until these fruit because I dislike the vines so much. I have ordered a different black raspberry, Tahi, which I will use to replace the Mac Black. This is the only variety I have ordered from Nourse that I really dislike. All the other raspberries and strawberries have been great

Everything we have gotten from Nourse has been amazing, so I am writing this a bit prematurely. Our Mac Blacks are the last of our 4 varieties to produce. We planted in the spring of 2021 and the general growth of these is a little bit less than other varieties. We have a lot of fruit coming on, so I'm going to say that we will thoroughly enjoy the continuation of our berry season with these late harvest black raspberries.

Planted 10 black Mac raspberries in 2020. Came through the winter looking hardy. Looking forward to good production. Everything I have ordered from Nourse has exceeded my expectations. Strawberries, blueberries, and last year red raspberries. They produced in the first year. Quality plants
